Robert J. Hermann (born August 12, 1934) is an American Roman Catholic Bishop: Auxiliary Bishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, Titular bishop of Zerta. ==Episcopal career== Hermann was appointed by Pope John Paul II on October 16, 2002, as the Auxiliary Bishop to serve the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. Hermann was consecrated bishop on December 12, 2002, by the previous archbishop of Saint Louis, Justin Rigali. Cardinal Rigali's successor, the immediate past Archbishop of Saint Louis Raymond Leo Burke, who is currently Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura and Cardinal, left the Archdiocese on June 27, 2008. The Archdiocesan Consultors elected Bishop Hermann Archdiocesan Administrator until April 21, 2009, when Bishop Robert James Carlson of Saginaw, Michigan, was named Archbishop and led the archdiocese as apostolic administrator in concert with Archbishop-elect Carlson until the Archbishop's installation on June 10, 2009. He continued to serve as Auxiliary Bishop until his retirement on December 1, 2010.
